More than 500 guests from around the world, 100 films in 10 days, 100 thousand. dollars in the “Paving the Way” – this promises to be this year’s edition of the Festival of PKO off camera. Tonight screening of the film “Taxi,” directed by Jafar Panahi start the eighth edition of the event. The festival will last until May 10.
This year’s edition is based on the idea of crossing borders; both films and morals, and even space. Who said that projections must take place only in movie theaters? At the screenings, the organizers invite to the studio cinemas, special screenings will be held at Krakow’s roofs of houses and river barge. A new feature is the “Cinema on the Vistula” – daily from 20:30 titles will be displayed that have gone into the history of cinema.
The International Competition “Making Way” is the main section of the festival. The audience was the first in Poland see the latest movies, which are currently hotly discussed in the world; the images that triggered a delight audiences at the biggest film events, festivals headed by Sundance, Toronto and Rotterdam.

The programmers of the festival go back to your favorite sections like “Discovery”, “getting up” or “American Independents”. There will also be news. See “loud pictures” tells the story of the most interesting musical personalities and of emotions that accompany them in the creative process. “Fashion on the screen” is a movie set, so that a better understanding of the scenes of this very attractive, but undoubtedly complicated world. It will be classy, but not always politely. Among the festival novelties were also “United colors of humanity” – a kind of ode to diversity, through which the world is more interesting, better and more intriguing. In the program, viewers will find films that tell about people from different cultures and parts of the world. The heroes of these paintings – in spite of stereotypes – prove that the agreement across party lines is possible. The filmmakers exceed the boundaries thanks to the “Wiekowo (not) adequate”. Section challenges the conventions and raises questions about who decides what is appropriate and what not to do “a certain age”.
Together with the Institute of Italian Culture and Apulia Film Commission PKO Off Camera offers films: “La Prima Neve” (reż.Andrea Segre) “Bertolucci on Bertolucci” (dir. Luca Guadagnino, Walter Fasano), “Black Souls” (dir. Francesco Munzi), “In Grazia di Dio” (dir. Edoardo Winspear). Another point of the festival is OFF SCENE program, under which more than 20 bands will perform during the 9 festival evenings. PKO Off Camera Festival presents not only recognized projects, but primarily put on the promotion of new, fresh sounds. The new sections of the film and OFF SCENE are part of the “Faces of modernity” within the framework of the program “Promoting cultural diversity and artistic as part of the European cultural heritage”, financed from the funds of the EEA, originating in Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway as well as national resources. “
From 04 to May 6, 2015 Festival for the third time invites to the meeting prepared by professionals with a view to the industry.
