Movie Review “Dogs mafia” – do not trust anyone – Portal PPE.PL

John Hillcoat has created a multi-layered story about the unexpected tangles and returns the shares, set in a corrupt environment police, violent gangsters and the Russian mafia. Criminals and their related police are preparing for the big jump that has them set for life, and some to pay liberty. The plan is complicated and requires precision and a victim. As you might guess, not everything goes according to plan. Above all, watches absolute and unpredictable Russian mafia, which is headed by the queen – Irina Vlaslov (Kate Winslet).

Chiwetel Ejiofor, Casey Affleck, Woody Harrelson, Aaron Paul, Gal Gadot, Norman Reedus, Anthony Mackie and Kate Winslet – the cast should provide entertainment at the highest level. In part it is. Unfortunately, the film disappoints a bit of a screenplay by Matt Cook. Because it introduces too many characters, thus giving them too little time to present to the audience and build stronger relationships. As a result, some characters literally fly us again and again through the screen, do not bring anything significant to the history or appear only in order to change the direction of the stock, and then again disappear somewhere in the dark corners of the city.

the most interesting of the entire cast falls Jeffrey Allen character played by Woody Harrelson. Funny that this actor recently accrue same roles of heroes addicted to alcohol and other drugs. It is not subject to doubt, however, that such guests played excellently on the screen. Maybe better that earlier this role gave Christoph Waltz, Woody seems to me to be a better choice. Pleasantly also looks at Kate Winslet as a soulless boss Jewish-Russian mafia. I must admit that the madness of her face. Disappointing for Chiwetel Ejiofor, though it’s not his fault. The character of Michael Atwood was just poorly written. The author probably did not know which way he would like to lead the hero, which he is lost, boring and uninteresting. A similar lack of ideas can be seen at Gale Gadot, whose role is limited to only a few scenes where it appears in tight shorts.

Director John Hillcoat, previously responsible for even interesting “Gangster”, he did not now weak film, but for sure it is below the expectations that were associated with it. He was to be dense, dark, downright dirty climate and focus on the relationship of the characters. Unfortunately, all this time missing. The atmosphere in the “Dogs mafia” sometimes thickens, but szybo is fuzzy, to artificially hustle share. But when this action is gaining momentum, it must be admitted that these are scenes filmed smoothly and well executed. Although there are not too many, when it is already there, delight the eye, such as the scene of the severed heads of Latin Mafia arranged on the hood of one of the cars. It is a pity that the director has not decided on the more such images. To further pump up the gloomy atmosphere of conspiracy and constant threat, most of the scenes takes place in bars, under bridges, in dark alleys or parking lots, all of course under cover of night. This simple procedure works perfectly.

the whole atmosphere of carefully built by the actors and the director spoils, unfortunately ending, which seems to be ill. Matt Cook writing the script did not seem cool idea to end all threads, so I went along the line of least resistance, to tighten the end credits. This does not affect significantly the final evaluation of the movie, but definitely leaves a bad taste. You get the feeling that something is missing, that could be squeezed out of the story more.

The poster bears the slogan “Not everything is what it seems,” but if you count on a secret and twisty in the story, it can be hard to disappoint. Nothing like that is not here. That slogan refers itself to corrupt police officers and nothing more. But this is not a plea for the film, but rather to the creators of the native version of the poster.

“Dogs mafia ‘is not a film outstanding, but certainly worth the dedication of these two hours to move to war-affected gang Atlanta.
