He died a famous cameraman, cinematographer for “The Lord of the Rings” – rmf24.pl

He’s dead Andrew Lesnie – Oscar-winning Australian cinematographer, cinematographer for “The Lord of the Rings”. He died of a heart attack at the age of 59 years – said the BBC.

Lesnie received the 2002 Academy Award for cinematography for “The Fellowship of the Ring”. Along with the director and co-writer of the trilogy based on the story of The Hobbit Peter Jackson shot the other two parts also “Lord of the Rings”, “The Two Towers” and “Return of the King”. He was also the cinematographer for Jackson’s other movies like “King Kong” and “The Lovely Bones”.

The death Lesniego officially informed the Australian Society of Cinematographers.

Lesnie began his career while still a student of film school as an assistant first operator on the set of a horror movie “Patrick”. He was the cinematographer for such diverse films as “Rise of the Planet of the Apes,” “Babe, Pig class,” “I Am Legend,” “Happy Feet” is a documentary about implementation of the “Mad Max”. His last film was the directorial debut of Russell Crowe, realized in 2014. “Source of Hope”.



“Gone master of light, genius”

Crowe was one of the first friends who reacted to the death Lesniego. He left the lights master, a genius – Andrew Lesnie – wrote on Twitter.

Andrew was an integral part of my family (…). After 17 common years and eight common films loss of Andrew is

very painful – Jackson wrote on Facebook.

On the set, we learned to work together, using a minimum of words (…). He was always backed me. (…) Andrew, you were one of the best cinematographers of our time – Jackson wrote on Facebook.
