17 movies will compete for the Palme d’Or in Cannes – rmf24.pl

17 directors – including Gus Van Sant, Nanni Moretti, Paolo Sorrentino and Hirokazu Koreeda will compete for the Palme d’Or 68th Cannes Film Festival. The program will see, among others, “Youth” – the latest image of the creator of the Oscar-winning “great beauty”.

This year’s edition of the festival will be held from 13-24 May. On the red carpet at Cannes appear actors such as Cate Blanchett, Lea Seydoux, Marion Cotillard, Salma Hayek, Rachel Weisz, Charlize Theron, Natalie Portman and Michael Fassbender and Benicio del Toro. The work of the jury will be chaired by brothers Joel and Ethan Coens.

The head of the festival, Thierry Fremaux said that the organizers do not wish to take Selfie during the event. He called these images “ridiculous and grotesque.”

In Cannes authors will present a variety of film genres – from the drama of the martial arts thriller and sci-fi romantic comedy “The Lobster” Yorgos Lanthimos. The festival also will give tribute to the Swedish actress Ingrid Bergman, whose centenary falls in August.
