On Saturday will be the closing of the exhibition “Images of the unknown.” It is an initiative for the development of amateur artists. He has a long tradition and enjoys a growing interest.
This year the number of participants was 96, and an important group is strongly activated to environmental seniors.
Izabela Dabrowska from the Regional Centre for Animation of Culture said that the level of work was high, but also diverse. He adds that this year’s edition gave a new look at amateur art emerging in our region.
have been awarded prizes in the following categories: painting and sculpture, and artistic secondary schools graduates were awarded for works of painting. During the final award is also the creator, whose work has most appealed to visitors to the exhibition during its duration.
An art historian Joanna Tomalska in the introduction to the exhibition catalog writes: “This is the most appreciated value of originality, entrusting his own intuition, nienaśladowanie other artists, in particular, the resignation of the support of photography and reproduction. (… ) Guided by these considerations jury awarded artists whose originality and indisputable sincerity is clear at first glance. ”
The subject of the work referred to the slogan “Images saved”, focused mainly on the Podlasie nature and tradition.
