Porno – drug, not entertainment – PCh24.pl

In 2015, films of only one producer of pornography restored 87 billion times. This is not a mistake – 87 billion times! At the same time, watching pornographic films presented as entertainment, and talk about their harmfulness and immorality followed with a górnolotnymi slogans about “freedom of speech”. Meanwhile, porn is not a pastime, has nothing to do with freedom, but it remains extremely dangerous drug.

Internet pornography is pervasive, and the existing “security” is usually a statement that the contents of this page contains materials “for adults”. Starting a discussion about pornography should be in the eyes of the series.

The first set . The recently published annual report of one of the most popular platforms of video porn (name I will not mention, so as not to make unnecessary advertising, inquisitive reader and as soon verify) shows the following:

In 2015 portal users spent a total of 501 425 years watching pornography. In other words – in the year five hundred thousand years watched porn. At this time watched 87 849 731 608 film. Write it in words: eighty seven BILLION movies. As emphasized creators themselves report that 12 porn movies for every living person on earth. And this is only one provider of Internet pornography.

The second set of data . Career media are doing a recent study Center for Social Prevention which show that 85% of teenagers watch pornography, of which 72% regularly. Take into account that the study involved only 90 high school students.

Let us then to more reliable sources. According to a study by the Institute of Integrated Prevention on a sample of 15 000 middle school students shows that the problem of viewing pornography concerns mainly boys. 80% of girls do not watch pornography at all, but as many as 66% of boys watching, with 14% of boys are using it every day.

the last point of the puzzle is the fact that 74% of Polish children aged 15-19 (tests not performed on younger people) has a smartphone years and this is the preferred way to access them to the Internet.

as you can see, a flood of pornography is huge, and access of children and young people like in practice unlimited. The kids are watching pornography on their smartphones, so parents do not even have a clue. Pornography has devastating effects not only on the psyche, but even the structure of the maturing of the brain (see: http://pytam.edu.pl/artykul/dlaczego-pornografia-dla-nastolatka-to-trucizna).

What can we do to protect children and young people?

An interesting clue indicate activities NBC. In the fight against pornography, the council focused on what was legally available to them, namely Polish entities providing pornography. The first thing I discovered is that for most of the 56000 pages analyzed are the links to the main domain, which as a result was less than 2500. Of this 635 had Polish owners. Further analysis showed that the 76% “Polish pornography” corresponds to just 12 players! So these are not difficult to comprehend millions of small “entrepreneurs”, which can not catch, because when we deal with one in its place there will be thousands of others, but rather that behind the big players to whom much easier to reach.

this means that the vision of pornography, which is most of us – billions of current films around the Internet, pornographic hydra, where the place of one of the liquidated portaliku appears million other does not fit reality. I put that properly conducted query of pornography world would lead to a result similar results as that made in Poland by KRTiT.

In order to do it, however, is needed to change the way of talking about pornography. At the moment, we talk about it in terms of freedom of speech. He uses the rhetoric of “the introduction of censorship” (already skipping prevalent arguments ad hominem type: as you are against it you are against porn sexuality, you have problems with each other). You should start talking about pornography as about what it actually is – the drug is not “adult entertainment”. Drug harmful for everyone and especially destructive for children and youth.

Interestingly rhetoric defense of human freedom also apply, eg. cigarette manufacturers. Let me quote an interesting quote from the book “Changing for Good” on the fight against addiction.

” the tobacco industry regularly produces advertising of anti-smoking campaigns as a struggle of freedom. ” In these ads they claim that there are three kinds of people: smoking, non-smoking and antynikotynowcy. The first two groups (as claimed) are actually identical. This freedom lovers who respect the human right to smoking or not smoking. On the contrary, antynikotynowcy, want to reduce the same access to cigarettes antydemokratyczni are portrayed as enemies of freedom. Therefore, the fight against cigarettes should meet with firm opposition not only smokers, but anyone who loves freedom, even those who themselves do not burn, if they would like to quit smoking. “

Sound familiar? it should. In the end, pornography is an extremely profitable industry sector,” entertainment “, why not use the tricks of rhetoric that proved effective in other similar projects? So the key to success is to change the way of talking about pornography. It’s not a matter of freedom, the right to choose, and the battle with the availability of a new type of drug.

Let us say simply – Polish government must find the resources to robust examination of large-scale real access and how the use of pornography by children and adolescents. and also to introduce solutions to reduce the access of young pornography, even at the beginning of following the example of the English, where when buying a mobile all services “adult” are disabled by default by the operator, and to turn them on, the owner must prove that he is an adult.

In fact, the fight against pornography is not a technical problem, not a problem of censorship or surveillance citizen (and such “arguments” we hear every day) and debunk myths to the accrued and take concrete steps in this direction.
