What awaits us in the future? As the development of technology affect the media and entertainment? Although predicting the future is not an easy task, let’s look into the crystal ball and try to guess what and how we will be using in 20 years?
20 years in the world of technology
Reflecting on the future, you might want to adopt a point of reference. How fast changing world, people and technologies? To check this, want to look back to see how the world looked two decades ago. Do you remember 1995?
His debut disc (or rather cassette – at that time it was in Poland most popular media ) made, inter alia, Myslovitz, Liroy and Blenders, and with world stars – Rammstein and Slipknot, and hungry for entertainment players can enjoy titles like Worms, Destruction Derby, Warcraft II and Descent.
The Internet as we know it today, has already Then there was – at least in terms of certain technologies . However, looked completely different – without social networking, multimedia, online, streaming, digital distribution, and everything that now comprises around us, the digital world.
Most of the computers were beige desktops with big – in terms of dimensions but not diagonal screen – CRT. Laptops, yes, there were, but because of the price and options were equipment intended rather for Business .
In 1995 There were a number of important debuts – Microsoft released Windows 95, MP3, PlayStation (year earlier available only in Japan), the Polish Internet start virtual Poland and company RealNetworks RealAudio format provides, allowing for streaming audio.
The evolution of computers
From the point of view of today – a distant prehistory. Does anyone living in those days could foresee the world we know today? Smartphones with a capacity of computers, tablets projectors, permanent connection to the Internet and digitization of our lives ? This seems unlikely.
20 years in the world of technology is eons. Despite this, looking at the modern electronic equipment can tempted to several predictions , about what awaits us in the future. Part of the equipment is waiting probably is predictable, gradual evolution.
A good example of such changes can be even computers belonging to the Lenovo ThinkPad – sliding keyboard TrackWrite whereby small, handy ThinkPad 701 offer full-size, comfortable keyboard , DVD drives and biometric security is first introduced over time, minor changes through which good device become even better .
Only if in the future certainly awaits us gradually, is predictable evolution of the equipment? Or maybe there is something special, as radically change the rules of the game ?
Computers disappear. Almost – will become simply invisible. Moore’s Law states that the ability of computing doubles every 18 months. For some 10 years ICs will cost a cent and will be everywhere. Computers, as such, will disappear, because they will be everywhere and nowhere as electricity and water today.
Revolution and the Lenovo Yoga Tablet 2 Pro
harbinger of change is undoubtedly Tablet Tablet Lenovo Yoga 2 Pro. What’s special about it? What distinguishes this equipment from many others is not only intriguing shape or quality, but built-in projector .
Thanks to the tablet offers unique opportunities. It’s not just about the famous advertising slogan Lenovo – lay, place, hold in your hand, hang – for use. There’s more – it’s as if we could wear constantly carrying a 50-inch TV . We need to show something greater audience? No problem. We want to watch a movie, sitting comfortably in a chair and looking at the big picture? I can do that! We would have liked to watch with friends photos from a recent trip? That’s easy!
But this is only an introduction to the technologies that can surround us in the future . Is in 20 years we will still be used in computers, tablets and smartffonach with traditional screens? It is possible that this will change.
What instead of the display?
hint towards changes may be even more advanced works on display holograms or paintings that resemble them. Remember the famous scene from a holographic message that Princess Leia wrote with the help of a robot R2D2? Something similar already exists and is the work of Polish engineers. Now imagine a similar technology, combined with the tablet: we can use, using only the small screen, but if necessary we can appears suspended in the air, a large obniektu .
electronics are not using, but in itself
Do not we need external devices, because all the electronics we wore ourselves, , or even inside the body ?
(…) sighting loose the boundaries between robots and humans. On the agenda will transplant operations using an electronically controlled artificial organs and prostheses will be setting up a routine surgery. Nanorobots be introduced deeply into the body to deliver drugs to diseased cells or perform microoperations. Special sensors will monitor the health of people and communicate the results to the cloud-based database (…)
There are already interfaces linking the human nervous system with the computer. Readers brainwaves allow you to control the cursor on the screen, writing or additional hardware. In laboratory tests already direct electronic connection to invasive human nerves and more perfect, artificial organs and limbs rubbing boundary between man and machine .
In this context, it is impossible to even think about the devices and interfaces in the modern sense – what is today we carry in our pockets and backpacks , for two decades, we have just in itself.
Lenovo and Motorola Mobility
Before this But will we still have many a surprise for the innovative equipment. Remember the Motorola Mobility? A few years ago there was a buzz about it, not only because mobile devices are produced, but because of the acquisition by Google. Today, the story comes full circle – Motorola Mobility hit because under the wing of Lenovo .
The synergies resulting from the combination of Motorola’s experience and potential of the mobile market Lenovo may be unique. Technology and knowledge, acquired by a Chinese company with this purchase will result in the near future, probably successive, smartphones points .
In their case, too, there is a huge field for engineers. What can they change? Let’s leave the side of the race to the increasing resolution screens and more perfect camera. Are important, but the real breakthrough might be something else. One of the key issues is the power – if Lenovo manage to solve this problem and offer a way to inexpensively our smartphones were for many days ready not only to sleep, but also to a permanent job , this will leave the competition far on the back.
Van changes
It is important also the presentation of the data. From year to year grow diagonal screen smartphones, but even here there is some border, resulting from the strength of materials and ergonomics . Is in 20 years we will continue to look at the screen and listen to the sounds coming out of small speakers or headphones?
(…) most of the displays will disappear, because the information will be displayed in our field of vision through a combination of brain-computer. When you meet someone on the street or at the time of the meeting, we will be able to immediately see extended information about it – the date of the last meeting or abbreviation known to us the message of his family or work. We know even what you do not see today – a small inscription can tell us that someone smiled at us when we turned our eyes for a moment.
This second issue has already been solved – there are already devices transmitting sounds not through our ears, but because of the facial bones . And what about the presentation of the data? It can be transmitted data directly in front of our eyes , using special glasses or even contact lenses with displays. Either directly to the brain, bypassing the eyesight?
Although today it seems quite fantastic, it is not improbable – necessary technologies already exist, and their fine-tuning is only a matter of time. Is 20 years enough to be widely adopted? If possible, Lenovo with their devices will will be at the forefront of these changes .
