Polish cameraman Slawomir Idziak was chairman of the jury of the main “Making Way” during the 8th Off Camera Festival, which will take place on 1 – May 10 in Krakow. The competition will be shown 10 films from around the world.
An international jury chaired by Idziak select the best feature film, which will be awarded the Krakow Film Award and 100 thousand. dollars. Competition “Making Way” is addressed to the directors by picking the initial steps in the cinema. They can submit their first or second feature film.
The principle of the festival is the chairman of the main competition is the Pole. In previous years, this function acted Jerzy Stuhr, Lech Majewski, Andrzej Zulawski, Jerzy Skolimowski and Zbigniew Preisner.
Slawomir Idziak has photographed more than 50 feature films, for which he received numerous awards. Over the years, worked as a cameraman with directors such as Krzysztof Zanussi and Andrzej Wajda and Krzysztof Kieslowski. 8. Off Camera festival will be held in Krakow on 1 – May 10. On the program will be devoted to the most interesting series of productions from all over the world – from South Korea, Denmark, France, Germany, the United States. It will show films that triumphed at independent film festivals worldwide, including Sundance in the US and in Berlin and Rotterdam.
During the event, prizes will be awarded also including competition designed for domestic production. Polish Film Noble prize is 100 thousand. zł.
The Off Camera will consist of a variety of thematic sections. Films that were the focus of critics and audiences the biggest festivals of the world will be shown in the “Discoveries: Best of Fests. It will have two views – the classic, including titles, which will be held in Krakow premiere and a selection of hits from the festival, which can be has already been seen in our country.
In the “Getting Up” will be presented recognized and award-winning productions in the world that did not make it to the Polish theatrical distribution. See “Screening Fashion – Fashion on the” will focus on the behind the scenes of films devoted to the world of fashion, and the section “Loud Pictures” will bring some of the most original images of music in recent years. So far, they were never distribution in Poland.
During the Off Camera will be shown videos that take the issues aging and entering into further stages of life in an unconventional way. They are collected in “Wiekowo (not) adequately.”
An important part of the festival is Off Camera Pro Industry – program of events aimed at industry professionals. In a small circle under the supervision of professionals from around the world Polish industry will work on their own projects.
