at the National Museum in Warsaw from 11 September an exhibition devoted to Freemasonry. The exhibition will show shaped by Freemasonry over the centuries vision of the world – politics, art and society.
Almost 500 works presented in eight museum halls – arranged on the model of the way of initiation into the lodge – illustrate not only the history and achievements of native Freemasonry, also known as Freemasonry, but also represented by its universal values such as freedom, brotherhood, solidarity, tolerance and the spirit of self-improvement of the individual and entire social groups.
The viewer is treated first as a seeker, then as so. postulant, and finally privy – adept “royal art”. The initiation takes place in stages (in the next exhibition halls): searching for the way to the lodge and the Masonic community (Hall of Lost Steps), initiation, or symbolic passage through the four Elements (played out between the Chamber of Meditations and Temple), participation in a box (in the halls: The Lodge banquet, White Loggia, Loggia Female), public activities for the immediate environment, nation and state (two rooms named Pro bono). Journey through the exhibition and also a symbolic journey through the world of Freemasonry ritual funeral ends (Lodge of Funeral). Separate spaces of the exhibition are devoted to modern architecture and assumptions garden signaling relevant to Freemasonry ideals of beauty and harmony.
The exhibition at the National Museum includes nearly 500 objects from the objects associated with the Masonic ritual (aprons, sashes, hammers, badges and refinement officials lożowych cups and seal the peace) through the documents, books and graphic prints and works of art showing the activity of the Freemasons, on numerous portraits of Polish Masons and masonek ending. They come mainly from the collections of the National Museum in Warsaw, however, have been supplemented by important objects on loan from other institutions Polish and from private collections.
