The ballet “Don Quixote”

As early as in 1614. in the royal court Louvre danced ballet Don Quichotte. Later motifs from the work of Cervantes found a home in the ballet on a permanent basis, bearing fruit for 400 years dozens of new studies. The real sensation, however, did ballet Marius Petipa to music by Ludwig Minkus (1869), he takes on the stages today, refreshed and processed by successive generations of choreographers.

Why such its vitality and popularity? The picturesque color of ancient Spain, voluptuous Gypsy and adorned bullfighters knight-errant of La Mancha, Sancho Panza comical and grotesque Gamache can always count on success. A main characters, Kitri and Basilio, have no equal in the classical repertoire in terms of charm, temperament and virtuosity of dance. All this creates a thrilling classical dance revue in the Spanish style, giving the Polish National Ballet unique opportunity to present the artistic craftsmanship of its leading soloists and the entire team. It is worth noting that the Warsaw Alexei Fedeyecheva choreographic version is a repeat of his studies of Don Quixote, created earlier for the Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow, where he still remains in a fixed repertoire.

As part of the tour under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage 250th anniversary of public theater in Poland, 3 in the records of ballet will settle in Bialystok.

Podlasie Opera and Philharmonic is already selling tickets. Normal costs from nearly 90 to 63 zł.
