August 1, 1944 order of the Home Army Headquarters broke the Warsaw uprising. After the surrender of the capital many residents fled the city, and some of them went to Krakow in search of help. AK Museum in Krakow has followed their trail. Last year, organized walks in the footsteps insurgents, and now publishes video which is a summary of last year’s meetings.
The Museum of AK in his film draws attention to the old shelter, medical aid points, and the places of memory.
From August 1 at the Museum of Army Street. Veit Stoss 12 in Krakow will be presented photos of the insurgent capital performed by New Year’s Eve Braun. It will be a compilation of several exhibitions prepared and presented since the end of the 90s in the United States by Bogdan Horoszowskiego, who as a 14-year-old scout participated in the insurgent uprising. After the war he emigrated to the United States, where he became friends with Sylvester Braun, and after his death took care of dissemination of knowledge about the uprising and the Army.
August 1 AK museum also invites you to a lecture by prof. Wieslaw Wysocki and screening of the film “Yellow blouse with a parachute.”
