The film Star Wars: Episode VII (the first Polish review!) inevitably reminded us the existence of George Lucas, the father of the universe. But Lucas is a precursor not only one of the most successful series in the history, it is also (together with, inter alia Zemeckis and Spielberg) architects cinema as we know it. It all started in the 70s of the twentieth century, when Spielberg and Lucas have created works that are a beacon for directors thinking about creating entertaining movies. Though their motto may seem trivial (“we want to create such films that had watched ‘), their vision for the filming of movies and entertainment that is not infantile and odmóżdżające, resulted in a real storm thrillers, sci-fi and fantasy whose main features include
- curious characters
- dynamic action
- humor, irony
- addictive gameplay of secrets
- adventurous themes
- pageantry!
The very term “new adventure” was coined by a Polish film historian, George Płażewski. He predicted that in the early twenty-first century attempt to look back over 80 years, will end up distancing the cinema of that period, due to the childishness produced then ever. However, as the show last year, Plazewski wrong in their predictions and today’s adventure films appear to be generally poorer than those to which he looked disdainfully (example would be the old Indiana Jones and the new Kingdom of the Crystal Skull).

Critics of Cinema Nova Adventures emphasized its commercial nature, mass scale, schematic and serial production of production. With time, there are also more sophisticated comments about this unusual phenomenon. New Adventures of cinema would be a postmodern response to the decadence of art – a cure for weakening the spirit of cinema have become not only new ideas, but also activities involving the duplication of existing solutions. The accuracy of this argument shows that films of this genre, “went threes” (trilogy Back to the past, Jurassic Park, Star Wars). Commercial viability of these projects is no secret. Productions from the heyday of the New Adventures became a field training for new concepts marketers and businessmen. Feel the effects of today (sometimes I have the impression that today even more than then).
What in particular was characterized by light, escapist cinema adventure, were amazing special effects and a tendency to play the Convention. As far as contemporary films grandchildren of those years in terms of showmanship go farther, it is looking at them for the same magic tales or the charisma of the hero, I feel that it is getting worse. The characters played by Harrison Ford captivation of the viewer, and their modern successors somehow can not take over the baton (for example, Shia LaBeouf at enactors roles Han and Indiana falls pale). Cinema New Adventures breathed a lot of energy in the world of film, but cinema “newer” adventure somewhere that energy loses. Productions such as Pirates of the Caribbean and Transformers are not in themselves an enchanting depth, and returns to the old, odkurzanych the needs of box office brands are reheating a frozen piece of meat that still tastes better than created now (holding on to continue the metaphor) products kotletopodobne.
Cinema The newer adventures?
Fortunately, there is still hope for the species popularized by the old Cinema Nova adventure. Examples are Udani Guardians of the Galaxy. We also have a renaissance fantasy genre (Hobbits, Warcraft). Every epoch in art needs something new, maybe in the middle of the first decade of the twenty-first century, the right approach for cinema entertainment is to look in the direction of comics and games. These are, after all carriers full of interesting stories, and although the first attempt biographical derived from these sources were sometimes quite wet behind the ears. Productions from the stable of Marvel (Winter Soldier, Iron Man 1) give hope that something can be in this field earn. If not now, then when can be born a true cinema New Adventures?
