They are portraits from the book “Bialystok. Photo album of and renowned city and it’s Jews the world over “, published in New York in 1951 by David Sohna, which, even though most of his life in the US, by the end called himself” bialystoker “. It contains about 1,200 images that Sohn collected from scattered around the world diasporas, including most of the portraits of former Jewish inhabitants of Bialystok rabbis and Zionists, shopkeepers and money changers, workers and artists etc. The gate building creates several meters long tunnel, which will be wyklejony Jewish newspapers and posters of pre-war Bialystok.
The building, which will be placed banners, located between one of the three surviving in Bialystok synagogues and non-existent oldest Jewish cemetery in the old Jewish quarter called Chanajkami.
