Just a few days after the founding of the group was held in Elblag inaugural gala. Since then, the band gave approx. 5000 concerts.
- First appearance in Elblag, and a few more I can not remember at all. I was then 19 years old. In contrast to today I have before my eyes autumn concert in 1965 at the House of Culture in Pasłęk, when we had to block the door to the dressing room closets, against the pushing crowd of fans – said the current head of the band, drummer George Skrzypczyk.
Red Guitar Polish Beatles were called and as they did in 1969 at the Fair Plate in Cannes (France) were awarded the prize MIDEM. In 2003, he played for the first time in its history in the Kremlin Palace in Moscow, and in the next – in Dresden, on the big concert on the occasion of Polish entry into the European Union.
The first part consisted Red Guitars: Bernard Dornowski, Krzysztof Klenczon, Jerzy Kosela, George and Henry Zomerski Skrzypczyk, which in 1966 was replaced by Seweryn Krajewski, and a few months later he left Kosela.
In 1970 he began a solo career Klenczon, who died after a road accident in Chicago, April 7, 1981 year. He was the author of such famous songs as “White Cross”, “Autumn walks through the park”, “flowers in your hair”, “Matura”, “Let’s go back to the lake.”
- I went back to his beloved Masuria. His ashes were buried in the cemetery in Szczytno – reminded Skrzypczyk.
Spring of 1997, Krajewski left the group, and two years later Dornowski. At the same time, the band returned: Kosela and Zomerski, who died in 2011.
Currently, Red Guitars are composed Kosela (guitar, vocals), Skrzypczyk (drums, vocals) and Mieczyslaw Wądołowski, Dariusz Olszewski, Marcin Niewęgłowski (guitar, vocals) and Arkadiusz Wisniewski (bass, vocals, arrangements).
As stressed Kosela and Skrzypczyk, with hundreds of heartfelt emotion mention evidence of sympathy from fans.
- After one of the concerts in the early nineties came into our dressing room drugoklasista and asked, “Do you know what you like? Because you’re cool guys”. During the peak of its popularity received a lot of letters and parcels. In one of them, addressed to Krzysztof Klenczon, was the soul of the iron with the attached card: “You took heart and soul to take” – they said.
Co-founder of Red Guitars resumed their campaign to promote young musicians, who soon want to pass the “baton”. The team has already completed work on a new album Fri. “Again,” which will premiere during the “Golden Concerts” in the Baltic Philharmonic in Gdańsk (March 14) and Roma Theatre in Warsaw (April 27).
50th Anniversary of the winner of the “Policy” for the best Polish team of the twentieth century began December 31, 2014 in Chicago, where he died Klenczon, and there is also a monthly tour of the US and Canada will end. Touring musicians will include the Florida, Baltimore, Philadelphia, New York and Boston. On my birthday, red guitar play in Texas – January 3 in Houston, and a day later in Dallas.
